dot eyes limiting emotion is precisely why i dont use them most of the time/in remotely serious pics
the position of the iris in relation to the eyelid & how much of the sclera is visible has an impact on how a char's emotional state is percieved (*far less so for non realistic styled chars but still) and dot eyes throw that all right out.
i still like dot eyes a lot though, theyre simple and fun and good for non serious "emotion needs to be conveyed in a non cartoony/exaggerated manner" stuffs
